Java Planet is Tampa Bays Premiere Organic Coffee Roaster!

Java Planet Organic Coffee Roasters has been a work in progress for a long time.  As coffee lovers, owners Mike and Jennifer Simmons wanted to create a company that ensured their ideals and goals for the highest quality product was met.   We are pleased to announce that they have achieved this goal!

How it all started:

Mike Simmons, head roaster at Java Planet, started roasting coffee at home many years before Java Planet was conceived.  Jennifer bought him a small home roaster. This then evolved into a larger home roaster and requests from friends for Mikes coffee to give away as gifts and for purchase.

When Mike and Jennifer were looking to start a new business they decided to establish a Coffee Roasting Company.  It made sense to them because they both love a great cup of coffee but if you add Mike’s love and expertise in roasting coffee they knew they could produce great tasting coffee to be shared with others.

It was important to them that their coffee was one that supports a healthy body, a healthy planet and that ensured that coffee growers are fairly compensated for their products.

As Java Planet was evolving,  information was gathered on how coffee is grown, how coffee growers are compensated  and the differences between Arabica and Robusta coffee beans.  They had to research how to make sure they had all the elements needed so that Java Planet could become certified Organic, and what regions produced the best tasting coffee.  They even researched how long coffee stays fresh to ensure the best possible coffee.

After months of research, testing, tasting and roasting, Java Planet was born.   Just try one cup and you’ll be as convinced as we are Java Planet has the freshest, best tasting coffee you’ll ever have!
